30A Final Reflection

Image
The most formative experience was definitely the very first elevator pitch. I feel a little bit uncomfortable  in-front of the camera, and speaking, then posting it here was pretty nerve racking. The experience that I'll remember most is the actually the most recent one where we talked about celebrating failures. The most joyous experience is definitely this one because doing 30 blog post is a lot for someone who does not do much on social media or anything like that.  My most proud experience was actually being able to complete all of the interviews because, again, I am shy. I definitely do not believe you can develop such a mindset in a few months, but there is definitely a start which is the important thing. One thing I would suggest to oncoming students is not to procrastinate and just pay attention. Watch the lecture videos as they are not boring or anything.

29A Venture Concept No.2

Venture Concept My opportunity belief for this class involves an application that helps the costumer with the parking on UF campus.    The opportunity such as the group of concepts I will be mainly targeting students at the University of Florida. Other groups to target would be people who park on campus who aren't students, like teachers or workers. Typically students have the need of not finding parking spots or don’t know where to park with their decal of their car or scooter. A lot of TAs are on campus and give out tickets. Nobody wants a ticket. These people that need my opportunity idea are the ones who: Want to park their vehicles on the UF campus  Can't find the right parking lot on campus   Don't know in which parking lots how many spots are available  Don't want to get tickets because of wrong parking   Don't want to walk because they parked too far from class The nature of this need is not too high but it has ...

28A Your Exit Strategy

1) I would personally like to sell my business in the next decade or so for a good amount of income. 2) I selected this because I feel like I need to be there for a little longer than 5 years for my business to really grow. Once I do sell it I would like to start another business and repeat, or perhaps enter a business and try my best to get to a top level position. 3) My exit strategy would definitely influence my other positions because I cannot make a life of income in 10 years (unless my company explodes BIG TIME). It definitely has influenced my growth intentions as it showed me how much work you actually have to put in. I knew growing a business is not easy in any way, shape, or form. Even after learning this, there is still a lot to learn.

27A Reading Reflection No.3

Book:  How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Scott Adams 1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The general theme of the book was about failing and what comes from it. 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? I personally chose this book because of the module we are on. In the module we also talked a lot about how people handle failure and how it is bound to happen at some point in our road to be an entrepreneur. The book is nearly the same thing, talking about how successful people fail all the time. How they have failed more times than they have succeeded.  3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve? I would ask the class to in one of their future activities whether it's sports or academics, it does not matter, to work on the little things in that subject. Such as for academics, just re-read your notes of tha...

26A – Celebrating Failure

1) A time I failed this semester was actually quite recently. I competed in the 200 individual medley relay at the SEC championships of the mens swim & dive team at UF. We were in the a final, and I was the butterfly swimmer. My time was good, but not as fast as I was capable of. We finished 2nd place, and I thought about if I would’ve swam faster, we could've won. 1 week later I went to another meet, and swam way faster. I felt guilty because we might've won with my time from one week later.   2) What I learned from this event that even at the biggest competitions of the year, things might not always go that well. You just have to work with what you have at that point in time. 3) My thoughts about failure is that it sucks, but it needs to happen to put your mind in mental check. If everything went right for you I would question whether or not you are actually pushing yourself to be the best you can be. I handle failure with just reflecting on what happened for abo...

25A What's Next

Existing Market: What's Next: Personally, I believe that we need to look at the current parking situation and assess what can do better. Also look at the situation going on campus with parking and find all of the dead space. Interviewee #1: He talked about how he always got tickets when he parked on campus Interviewee #2: She talked a lot about how she started to park at her sorority house and then walked 10min Interviewee #3: She talked about how there is almost no opportunity for her to park on campus with her car because she can't find any spot near her class Something that definitely stood out to me was that people really have problems to park their car on campus in the right parking lot. They either get tickets or don’t get any spots.   Another thing I found interesting was that a lot of people don’t even try to park on campus anymore. They stopped to try it because It would take too much time with a high chance of no success.   New Market: ...
